Why is my Pantech Jest different?

My old phone's contract was up so i wanted to upgrade my phone. I ordered a pantech jest and just got it in the mail today.The okay button is not optical it's a regular d pad push buttons. Then the top two buttons that are supposed to be touch screen where you just tap them are push buttons too? is it a new type of pantech jest? or what?
