Help: Can't get my CAD GXL2200 Condenser mic to work on my computer?

I just bought a brand new CAD GXL2200 Condenser mic for recording my music. I then purchased a ARTcessories X Direct professional active direct box, because I know that my mic needs phantom power to run.. Now when I plug my mic into the box, then run the box to my computer. It recognizes that there is a recording device plugged in but when I go to set up my mic to use on my computer, my computer hears nothing, and the level meter doesnt move.. Please help me, I dont know what else I need....
