My Sim Reach The Life Time Want, But It Didn't Effect Him?

So my sim has the life time want of earning �100,000. In his memories it says earned �100,000 "I've earned more money then any sim I've heard of! Just call me moneybags!" but his aspiration meter never went up and if it ever goes to platinum it doesn't stick there. whats the problem?
